Thanksgiving 2021
As my family and I are preparing for the Thanksgiving holiday, I begin to think about the things that have happened over the past two years. There have been pleasant things and well, not so pleasant things that have come my way. I am sure I am not the only one who has suffered either disappointment or loss. Maybe you have suffered the loss of a spouse, a child, a parent, or a friend. Perhaps your loss is not so personal, but maybe it was the loss of a job, or you were displaced from your home.
Breast Self-Awareness
October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month and recently, I was given the opportunity to speak to a group of women about breast self-awareness and breast cancer. Among these women were breast cancer survivors, those who have gotten their mammograms consistently year after year, and those who had not yet received a one.
Apple of His Eye
Recently, I found myself thinking about my daddy and how much he means to me and how much I mean to him. It’s not hard to see why as Father’s Day is approaching and will be upon us shortly. I thought about how much I love him and how much of an influence he is in my life. My parents split when I was very young but fortunately, I have always maintained a close relationship with him.
Who Do Men Say I Am?
What was being said? Whether good, bad, or indifferent Jesus knew who he was, but had it been revealed to those around him. As he was going about doing good works could they see the true nature of his motives? Could they see he was approved and sent by God? He healed many, casted out devils, feed thousands, and revealed the mysteries of the Kingdom that had been hidden in the Scriptures for centuries. Yet, they did not know who was among them, because they were judging by the flesh instead of discerning the spirit.

After you’ve made several unsuccessful attempts to fix the problem, have you finally come to the conclusion that you can’t fix it? Tell me, while you were in the midst of this challenging time were you told by a friend, a loved one, or a counselor to just let it go? Did they give you instructions on how to accomplish what seems to be an arduous task? Even though you were not quite sure how to do it you decide to let go. You know you’ve made a sound decision, but is there still something in you that just can’t seem to let it go?

You are not expecting anything less than what you have clearly envisioned. Just as life would have it something comes into your environment that you did not foresee, nor did you calculate it into the equation. Your destination and mode of transportation has not changed, however, what can change is your level of focus and tenacity.

2020 will be known as the year that our lives and the world was turned upside down. Every country and each sector of society worldwide has been shaken. People great and small have had their faith tried in unimaginable ways. Amid the darkness and chaos of 2020, Father remained faithful. He has poured blessings and favor upon his people. Amid what some deem as his judgment and others the work of the enemy, he is yet being glorified. Whatever you believe know that God has given space for repentance and he has blessed man with a resilient spirit. If you have been fortunate enough to cross over into 2021, know this-God is not finished with you, this nation, nor this world and he is still faithful!
