Giver of Love

And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.

Your existence did not happen by coincidence nor by cosmic accident. It was a collective decision made between our All-Powerful, Father God, his Son, Jesus Christ, and Holy Spirit. “Let us make man,” are the words he spoke into the universe thousands of years ago. These four words expressed his purposeful intent to give a part of himself to the world. The heavenly collaboration and subsequent conversation can easily be compared to one that is had between a loving husband and his wife when agreeing to produce a child. God in his infinite wisdom and from the abundance of his everlasting and eternal love likewise created you and me for himself.

“It is love that created you, and it is love that you and I desire.”

It is love that created you, and it is love that you and I desire. It is no wonder one continues to seek for its fulfillment in life and finds great joy in loving and being loved. Love comes in many forms be it from a mother, father, sister, brother, lover, friend or spouse we all seek to be loved. Like a plant who gets it’s nutrients from the earth’s soil and its life source from fresh water, so we to must have the giver of love and the flow of love from others in our lives. It is what is needed to truly survive and thrive in our current world.

God is the original source of the love we seek and it is he that we must first embrace. We must realize that it is because he loves us that we exist and deep within each of us lies his seed of love. He is the author and cultivator of this love to which he gives a steady supply by putting a little of himself in us all. Ultimately it is the God kind of love in others that we long to see and feel. A love that is unconditional and fulfilling; that gives and does not take; is kind and forgiving; is patient and displays self-control; that suffers long, uplifts, and does not destroy. We seek love because we are loved.

So, if you have found yourself searching for love in a time when it seems so hard to find, know that it is not far away. Stop and take a moment to meditate upon and look to the one who created you and receive his unconditional never-ending love. Now look within yourself and you will find the love of God rooted deep within. Allow him to activate the true love that resides there. Once you have uncovered his love for you and fully explored the love of self, you will then begin to understand the magnitude of love that blooms inside of those around you. When you give the love that you have received you will receive the love that you give. Be a giver of love!

Beloved, let us love one another: for love is of God; and every one that loveth is born of God, and knoweth God I John 4:7
