Do Not Quit!
My alarm sounds at 8:00 a.m. on Sunday morning, alerting me to get up and prepare for our morning worship service. I rise and perform my grooming routine, get dressed, and hurry downstairs to meet my husband at the car. When I laid down the night before my expectation was to be awakened to see clear blue skies. You can imagine my surprise when I stepped outside to see blankets of fog covering the landscape. The fog was so thick it looked like clouds had fallen from the sky. My husband began driving and proceeding with caution he paid close attention to go no faster than he could see ahead. After 20 minutes, we arrived at our destination safely. Along the way, I began to think about our journey, and I want to share my thoughts with you.
There are times in life when you are clear about the direction in which you are headed. Everything in your life is running smoothly and you are on your way to your destiny. You are not expecting anything less than what you have clearly envisioned. Just as life would have it something comes into your environment that you did not foresee, nor did you calculate it into the equation. Your destination and mode of transportation has not changed, however, what can change is your level of focus and tenacity.

Once you make the decision to move forward you must maintain your focus. Especially in those moments when your clarity of thought becomes cloudy. The unexpected has the potential to knock you off course if you let it. You must strengthen your internal tenacity and be determined in the face of sudden adversity. You must know that you are still on the path to destiny despite the circumstances. During the times of uncertainty, you will have to make some minor adjustments. You may have to slow down for a time, but do not quit. You may have to proceed with extreme caution, because you are not seeing clearly, but do not quit! You may doubt that you are on the right path, but do not quit! You may be tempted to get off the path and take detours, but this is not the time—you have no clarity! Do not quit! Soon that which came unexpectedly will lift and your visibility and mental clarity will return. Stay focused be determined and do not quit your destination is just ahead!
