The Year of the Double

“Double-Trouble” are the words that the Lord has been speaking to me since the latter part of 2021. Initially, I just let the words rest in my spirit; but I have come to realize this is something he wants me to share with you.

The Greek word for double is Diplo which means two-fold. It also means twice as much, twice as big, and two parts the same. There is a play upon the word here as well. It also means to fold. The first meaning is to give twice as much, and the other is to fold over upon itself. The proclamation of the Double holds great significance for this year.

As you know God does not live in time as man does. So, the prophecies that go forth do not expire until they are fulfilled. In other words, if your double does not come in 2022, then look for it in 2023. Every prophecy spoken is not for everybody, but for those who bear witness to the word may the will of God be accomplished in your life. The Lord has said that “whatsoever a man sows that shall he also reap.” It is reaping time for you and manifestation time for others.

Repent!

 In Jeremiah Chapter 16 verse eighteen, Jeremiah receives the word of the Lord concerning the people. This is how Father dealt with the people’s rebellion, “And first I will recompense their iniquity and their sin double; because they have defiled my land, they have filled mine inheritance with the carcasses of their detestable and abominable things.” God tells Jeremiah that the people have failed to repent and had even become worse than their ancestors and refused to walk in his ways. As a result, they would receive double trouble.

There are those of you even now who have refused to turn from your wicked ways. You have refused to truly repent from the heart. Repenting from the heart will produce the fruit of transformation and change. Turn and align yourself with the Father. Be assured that you will reap what you have sown. You will eat the fruit of calamity. If you have found yourself in opposition to God, repent now and turn from your wicked ways and receive the mercy, grace, and favor of God. It is not his will that any perish but that all should come to the saving knowledge of the Lord Jesus Christ (2 Peter 3:9). Come now and fall under the umbrella of the mercy, love, and grace of Almighty God. 

The Double Blessing

There are those of you who are positioned to receive the blessing of the double. These are those who despite life’s circumstances have remain faithful and grateful before Almighty God. You have not murmured, nor have you complained, and the Lord says to you, “You will not be made ashamed (Isaiah 49:3).” Isaiah 61:7 states, “For your shame ye shall have double; and for confusion they shall rejoice in their portion: therefore, in their land they shall possess the double: everlasting joy shall be unto them.”

Where the enemy has troubled you, you shall receive double for your trouble. Double because you kept the faith and did not waiver. Even through tragedy you remained faithful to God! You too will reap what you have sown and “I will reward you openly says, the Lord. You have been laughed at and scoffed for believing me, but now you will reap the reward of your faith. For you there will be double for your trouble. You will receive the blessing of double.”

Double Grace 

The Lord says, “His grace is sufficient for you (2 Corinthians 12:9).” The grace of the Lord is rich and abundantly flowing in your life (Acts 4:33, Ephesians.1:7). As you encounter and face life’s lingering circumstances the Lord is blessing you with a double grace. The grace to move gracefully and unaffected. You have also suffered the unexpected losses of loved ones and have carried the weight of the loss. God is gracing you to lift your head. He is placing a grace upon you-a double grace to lift your head, to get out of bed, and to rejoice in his manifold mercies. Keep moving forward knowing that he is good, and his mercy endures forever (Psalm 136:1-2). 

Double Mercy 

 The unexplainable mercy of God is being extended to you two-fold. There are things for which you should have received a great punishment but because you cried out for the mercy of God, he will show mercy. Just as David asked for mercy and received God’s mercy so shall you. In God’s show of mercy to you, he will in turn deal with those who have set out to do you harm. Through the mercy of God, he hides you from you enemies (I Samuel 23). Although they search for you, they will not find you. You are hidden in the Shadow of the Almighty God. He causes those who are determined to curse you bless you instead. 

Double Favor 

In this season the favor that God is placing upon your life will cause you to stand before great men and women. It is not a favor that is obtained by position but by the Spirit of the Lord. Your astuteness will cause you to turn unfavorable situations to favorable ones. Those that seek out experts will seek you out because of your willingness to gain knowledge and understanding and to apply wisdom. Luke 2:52 says, “And Jesus grew in wisdom and stature, and in favor with God and man.” So shall you be favor by God and man.

Double Portion 

The portion that has been set aside for you has been doubled. It is the double portion that the Lord gives to whomsoever he chooses. It is the portion that others forfeited through disobedience that is given unto you because of your faithfulness. Those wicked men who chose to hide the treasures of heaven and failed to produce will have their portion given to another. Receive your double portion.

 Matthew 25:26-32, “His lord answered and said unto him, Thou wicked and slothful servant, thou knewest that I reap where I sowed not, and gather where I have not strawed: Thou oughtest therefore to have put my money to the exchangers, and then at my coming I should have received mine own with usury. Take therefore the talent from him and give it unto him which hath ten talents. For unto everyone that hath shall be given, and he shall have abundance: but from him that hath not shall be taken away even that which he hath.

Double Harvest (Genesis 25-26) 

Those business ventures that lay barren and would not produce will take root in this season and begin to produce a double harvest. While others seem to be drying up, you will double your profits. Those of you who have been treated unfairly are about to see God move on your behalf. Just as he moved for Jacob when Laban abused his relationship and cheated him out of what rightfully belong to him. God is going to download into you spirit business strategies that will produce a double harvest. No one else wanted it, but you are about to take it and make it grow. The Spirit of the Lord is about to blow on your business. He is about to blow on you finances. He is about to blow your mind!

Double Anointing 

Just as Elisha asked Elijah for a double portion so shall you receive. You have served as unto the Lord and have been found faithful in all your work. The double portion of anointing no man can give, it is given by the Father to those whom he chooses. To those he finds faithful over few things. The portion you possess you have stewarded well and to that a portion will be added. You can clearly see in the realm of the Spirit what the Father is doing. This portion is not for the faint of heart. “To whom much is given much is required,” so be sure to be about the Father’s business (Luke 12:47-48).
